At Pilates Tutor, we take Pilates “out of the box” and adapt different exercises to meet the needs and goals of each individual. Our methodology is scientifically based on current research in exercise physiology, back care, and movement training.
This integrated approach ensures that workouts contain a combination of some or all of these eight different elements of fitness: Movement Re-education, Stabilization, Cardio-respiratory, Core Training, Flexibility, Speed, Quickness and Agility, Reactive Training, and Resistance Training.
Our Instructors are certified in the STOTT PILATES method of exercise. The STOTT PILATES method is a contemporary approach which applies modern exercise principles, including contemporary thinking about spinal rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
STOTT PILATES exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and re-balance the muscles around the joints. They also emphasize shoulder stabilization and healthy shoulder bio mechanics. There are preparatory exercises and modifications to make the method safe and effective for most individuals.
